The short version
Text you paste into Free Case Converter is processed in your own browser and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. We sell nothing. We do use Google Analytics to count visits, which sets a cookie — the details are in “Analytics” below, and your text is never part of it. Otherwise the only thing we store is whatever your web host records in ordinary server access logs.
What stays on your device
- Your text. It lives in the textarea of the open tab. Closing the tab discards it.
- Your settings. Title case style, slug separator and length, cleanup options, and your custom dictionary are kept in this browser's
localStorage. They are never sent anywhere, and clearing site data removes them permanently. - Your current mode and short inputs. When the URL is shorter than about 400 characters, the mode and text are mirrored into the query string so a link can be shared. That lives in your address bar and your history, not on a server.
What is sent to a server
Loading a page fetches the HTML, the CSS, the JavaScript, and the font files. There is no API call per keystroke and no upload endpoint, so the converter keeps working with no network connection at all once the page has loaded. The one exception to “nothing leaves your browser” is analytics, described next.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and how the site is used in aggregate. It is a Google product, so it loads from Google and sets first-party cookies named_ga and _ga_FYHG185V1F, which store an anonymous identifier and a session count.
- It does not see your text. The converter runs locally, so what you paste or convert is never sent to us, to Google, or anywhere else. Analytics only receives the page path, referrer, and coarse device and browser information.
- IP addresses are anonymised. Google Analytics 4 truncates and anonymises the IP address before storage, so a full address is never recorded.
You can opt out of analytics entirely with theGoogle Analytics opt-out browser addon, or by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser settings. Blocking googletagmanager.com in an ad blocker also stops it, and the converter works exactly the same either way.
Third parties
Google receives the visit data described above. Fonts are self-hosted rather than loaded from a third-party CDN, and no social media scripts are loaded.
Server logs
Whoever hosts these files keeps standard web server logs — IP address, timestamp, requested path, user agent — for operational and security purposes. Those logs are not used to build a profile of you and are not joined to any data from the tool, because the tool never transmits any.
Children
The site is a general-purpose utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated date at the top of the page changes with it.
