Free Case Converter is a small, independent tool for changing the capitalisation of text. Paste a paragraph, choose one of fifteen conversion modes, and get the result back immediately — sentence case, title case, upper case, camel case, URL slugs, and a handful of cleanup routines for text that arrived from a PDF with the line breaks still baked in.
Why it exists
Most case converters on the web are a form that posts your text somewhere, returns an answer, and asks you to accept an account prompt before you can copy the result. They run trackers, they cap you at a few conversions an hour, and several of them quietly send what you typed to an advertising partner.
None of that is necessary to change the case of some text. Changing letter case is a rule that a few kilobytes of JavaScript can apply entirely on your own machine. So that is what this does, and the privacy guarantees fall out of the architecture rather than out of a promise.
What it does not do
There is no sign-up, no paywall, no usage cap, no watermark on the output, and no affiliate relationship with anything. Your text is never written to a server, because there is no code here that would write it to one.
How the title case rules work
The part worth explaining is title case, because it is where case converters usually go wrong. APA, Chicago, and AP all agree that articles such as a, an, and the, and coordinating conjunctions such as and, but, and or, stay lowercase. They disagree about prepositions. APA lowercases only prepositions of three letters or fewer, soA Walk Through the Valley keeps “Through” capitalised, while Chicago and AP lowercase every preposition, giving A Walk through the Valley.
This converter implements all three, plus a plain capitalise-everything mode, and lets you switch between them. Hyphenated compounds are split and each half is treated separately, so state-of-the-artbecomes State-of-the-Art rather than State-Of-The-Art. Common acronyms are recognised and restored, and a custom dictionary lets you pin names like iPhone that no rule set would guess correctly.
